Since 1989 the Mt. Poso Cogeneration Plant has provided electrical power to help meet the growing needs of California as well as supplying steam to thermally enhance the oil recovery in a nearby oil field.  During that nearly 20 years of operation the plant has consistently generated enough electricity to power over 35,000 homes, twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, three hundred sixty five days a year. 

Now, as California leads the way in replacing fossil fueled generating facilities with ones powered by clean renewable energy sources, Mt. Poso Cogeneration Company is poised to join that renewable portfolio. Mt. Poso Cogeneration Company will be the first cogeneration conversion from fossil fuel to renewable biomass and will continue to provide California clean renewable energy for the next 20 years.
